This day in History

It is the year 1986 and the date is 17 February.  A little boy is born, I assume somewhere in the Stellenbosch or Cape Town area.  He is the first born of his family, soon followed by three sisters.  He comes into this life to change the world!  It is a very dear friend of mine, and one of your fellow boklammetjie blog followers, that was born.  Though I was not there (but still comfortable in my mother's womb, not due for a month and a few days) I am sure that my friend's parents were very happy to hold their first born in their arms.  Since then this little baby boy developed many skills and discovered many talents and gifts, uniquely combined in a young man of 25 years.  So, I dedicate this blog to you, Pieter.  May your days be filled with laughter, happiness and great memories.  And may you use all these skills, talents and gifts to help others in some or other way.  And may you and your girlfriend be happy as always!  :)  Happy birthday!

Today Pieter finds himself in the Netherlands, where he enjoys "stroopwafels" and studies.  Let's hope he leaves a comment and tell us a bit about his experience there and why I wrote this blog.  And if we are VERY fortunate, he will provide us with his own blog's link...that is a blog that still has to be designed and I tried to convince him to do so.  :)
