The file lady - day one of work

So no one told you life was gonna be this way? Of course thy did! Today was the first day of my new life as a file lady. So many files! And do not dare think you are done with one, because you are NOT! Or, I'm just inexperienced. I vote for the latter! I felt like the complete clueless "new girl" which, of course, I am. I definately got the chance to test my new bosses' patience and teaching skills, since I was asking questions all day long. This is going to take some getting used to, definately.

O, and I took some wrong turns when I drove to work this morning, but in the process got to know the area better and still got to the office on time. Tomorrow will be a straight drive, I think.

I have to tell you about this one girl in my office (I'm sharing cubical space as well as personal aura with her). She has such an open and wonderful personality. Made me feel so welcome and asked about my life. We even share a friend (good one to her, I just know him). I am always very intrigued by people who is just friendly and warm. As if just about nothing can ever darken their mood. Well, so there is a nice little sunstream in my day!

Not that it was a dark day - just overwhelming with info and trying to remember it the first time. Silly me! I'm human after all! According to my very qualified, expert opinion, a clerk spend 87% of their time on files! I wish I listened to my Civil Procedure lecturer when he said that that is the most important subject in the LLB course. Turns out he was SO right. My end marks is not worth mentioning on this public space. Let's just say it wasn't one of my talents. Now I'll have to invest some time in those books.

Anyway, I'm also fighting very hard to find balance in the form of running. I went for a 20 minute run just after work and it was great! Exercise really do take away stress! Oh, it was GOOD.

Over and out, people. I am tired and still have to read my working contract... My job is, in fact, NOT a joke, but a serius matter. :)

  1. So, you drove to work, with ...? The Corsa bakkie? And what is the story about the tail lights not working.

I was just chatting to one of my new house mates, her parents live in Pretoria. We were talking about the difficuty of driving in multi-lane roads. So how is the farm girl :-) coping with the traffic?
