Patience is a virtue

I get rebellious sometimes.  I think it is because I like to make my own decisions and are not used to people trying to help me and giving me advice.  Now, that sounds awfull!!!  It is not like I never listen to what people have to say, but I am very selective.  If I don't ask for advice, don't give me advice.  But that is not how it works (or should work) when you have good family and friends.  We were not put on this earth to be alone or survive on our own.  No man is an island.

It just so happens that with the move to Pretoria I have to make a few decisions.  1.  Which work to apply for and which job offer to take.  2.  Where and with whom I will stay.  3.  Buy a new car or a used car and find finance for whichever option I take.

IMAGINE all the advice I got from family and friends!  So, what the hec - I decided that U (the reader) can also join in the fun.  Give me your best advice.  I state the facts and you get the say.  Go!

1.  I took a job as candidate attorney in Pretoria and unfortunately you don't have a say about this one.  So far, so good.  I learn a lot each day and I am getting used to things there.

2.  My first option is to move in with a guy for R1 800 p.m.  I met him this morning and went to see the flat.  Nice flat.  Small, but nothing less than my previous flat.  Sharing with a guy - never did it.  All essentials - double (triple if you count the guy) security, parking space, near work, near a shopping centre, tumble dryer, washing machine, TV (no DSTV), stove, own room, swimming pool.

Second option is to stay with my cousin.  I don't know how this will work out, but still, I know her and love her.  Price will only be talked about when she returns on the 18th of February.  It is a bit further from work.  Bigger room, no swimming pool, furnished, near a shopping centre.

3.  I would LOVE to have a Toyota Yaris.  A friend says he'll be able to get me an affordable deal for a new car.  Other people say I should buy second hand.  What say you?

Now that I "talked" about it, I feel a bit relieved.  I am sure I can still wait and let my options multiply so I can make the best decisions.  For the moment I am in the very fortunate position to be able to live with my aunt and drive my mom's Bantam bakkie.

O, and I went to a church this morning and loved it.  I enjoyed the praise and worship so much, was enspired by the message and saw a few interesting projects where I could apply my skills.  But, of course, I will think about this one as well.

Where are the days where, on our little town, we had no choices - everything was just simple and easy?  Now life is just so complicated, but full of opportunities.

  1. 2. Nice flat, but nice guy?

    3. Toyatas are unfortunately overpriced. But if you are set on a Yaris, consider the 3-door version, 2 less doors brings down the price.

Also, if you want a new car, the Polo Vivo is not bad. Maintenance will probably be cheap (they are assembled in PE,SA).

  2. Toyotas are overpriced? And here I thought I was looking at the cheap option... I tell you, I am such a nooby! I saw a small Ford car being advertised on TV, but can't remember the name. It is a very short (fourletter, I think) word. Anyways, what's your take on Ford? I am very happy with my Ford Bantam bakkie, but will the price be good? And does it come in (only) black? :)

  3. :-)
The Ford Ka, a two letter word. The price will be good, but it is very small.
